CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST
 
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible for development of excellence in clinical standards of practice and care and competency of the nursing staff.  Demonstrating a firm knowledge base in clinical expertise and systems theory, the CNS conducts and facilitates patient care consultation and provides resources to assess the impact and appropriateness of practice on patient outcomes.  Leadership is provided in defining outcomes which are achieved through the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical paths for specific case types of patients.  This position will support all of Legacy Health System's Critical Care Departments.
 
In partnership with the critical care Clinical Nurse Specialist team, the qualified  candidate will help support eight adult critical care units throughout Legacy Health System's and will be responsible for; defining patient outcomes through standards development, provision of expert information and recommendations, as well as direction of care and clinical practice.

Job Qualifications: 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:
As required by licensure.
 
Experience:
Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position, and include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.  Minimum 5 years experience in  Critical Care strongly preferred.
 
Licensure:
Current applicable state Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) licensure required.
Current WA, RN Licensure strongly preferred.
Current certifications dependent upon the specific position, and include Basic Life Support (CPR).
